News and EventsJim Hyde GS Dirt Riding SeminarOctober 2008 Presenter: Jim Hyde GS Dirt Riding Seminar and Riding Schools Hello to everyone who wants to be a better GS rider in the dirt! We have a very special program on the evening of Tuesday, October 14th. Starting at 7:30 we are fortunate to have Jim Hyde of Rawhyde Adventures giving a talk on the history of GS riding in the United States, how his training programs got started, and how this has led to his becoming BMW's official training center on the West Coast. He will also cover what is new in the adventure riding world, including international adventures in Italy and Mexico - the Mexico tour program is magical, called "The summit to the Sea", a six day 5-star tour which begins at the top of an extinct volcano and rides through five different eco-terrains (volcanic, alpine, subtropic, tropic and the "beach". In June of next year there will be an eight day ride through Tuscany on "old Roman chariot roads", spending nights at wineries and participating in the "Italian Adventure Challenge!", which will be BIG FUN! Jim has also come up with a new program called a "Speed Clinic", on how to cover ground quickly on your GS or other large off-road bike without problems, and he will have some brand-new footage of this new program. Jim will announce the dates for the next Speed Clinic and travel dates for next year, and give you an overview of what Rawhyde Adventure and BMW North America together are planning to offer our customers for adventure. This is a rare opportunity to hear one of the pioneers of GS skills classes, and you cannot fail to be fascinated and amused at some of the stories he will tell. |
